With over 50 years of cumulative experience in the healthcare
arena GOLD is able to offer a truly unique approach to servicing
the needs of the industry. Through the guidance of our V.P. of
Operations, Michael Altis, our technicians are not only factory
trained but also have degrees in Bio-Medical engineering, electrical
engineering, and computer applications. This allows GOLD to service
a broad range of equipment, as well as we are the contracted service
center for several manufacturers. Our technicians have been recruited
for some of the most complex installation and application of multi-patient
multi-monitoring systems. Our expertise and understanding of how
equipment is supposed to be used, maintained and serviced has
petitioned us as expert witnesses and aided judges in determining
an outcome in legal debates.
As we have for 30 years, GOLD offers 24-hours, 7-day-a-week
emergency assistance for the repair/servicing of medical equipment.
When a patient life is on the line, there is no time clock for
us, making our clients loyal patrons for many, many years.

With healthcare undergoing more and more cut-backs, hospitals,
medical centers and physicians alike were looking for a way to
keep their medical equipment operational longer. GOLD began to
offer refurbished equipment for their clients. All work is done
at our facility and warranted by GOLD. GOLD offers their own
warranty of up to one year on all equipment refurbished by us,
even when the manufacturer warranty ended years before.
Our clients trusting the level of service and the expert knowledge
of the staff at GOLD more and more began to request assistance
with building outpatient facilities. Working in various facilities
and having a true understanding of patient flow versus aseptic
principles GOLD ventured further into the design and development
of medical facilities. An architectural department was created
under the guidance of Robert Altis, President of GOLD.
GOLD has designed everything from medical offices, outpatient
facilities, and MRI and dialysis centers. Time after time, our
facilities designs have proven to provide a high level of functionality
with extreme efficiency. It was at this time that we aggressively
began to develop a modular medical facility, seeing the need of
more advanced healthcare facilities to remote parts of the world.
With the advent of new technology and the world desire for a
more green earth, GOLD has developed many advances for expedient
development of the Mobile Surgical Units. With our computerized
automated design, the manufacture of the mobile units can be expedited
very quickly and at a tremendous cost savings to our customer.
Instead of our customer waiting 6 to 8 years for a hospital to
be built, they can utilize the advantages of a customized state-of-the-art
mobile units in a few months. This minimal downtime is not only
extremely cost contained, but the patients quality of living is
greatly increased.
It has been the experience of GOLD that even though, “a
picture is worth a thousand words”, experience is the best
teacher. GOLD provides with the centers a thorough Inservice
teaching experience with our customer’s personnel. GOLD
has on staff, teaching nurses that will go step-by-step with our
customer’s personnel so they may easily acclimate themselves
with the new medical equipment and modular units. GOLD will train
your personnel with our automated electronic Bar Code System so
they can easily inventory the on-hand supplies and order, as needed,
new supplies, parts, consumables and additional instruments. State
of art technology and global environmental sensitivity have been
a must with GOLD since our conception. Installed into our system
is global visual video conferencing with satellite interfacing.
This allows comprehensive communication with doctors, nurses and
organizations needed for an international immediate response.
Besides using environmentally acceptable standards in our centers,
GOLD has energy saving Solar Energy available for electrical
consumption. This allows less green-house gasses from generator
usage with long term cost savings.
After the enactment of AB595 (California law governing outpatient
health care facilities) the company was called to create another
division that focused on the accreditation/certification of outpatient
ambulatory surgical centers. Working closely with the various
organizations have caused GOLD to form a working relationship
with many manufacturers to assist the facilities in getting the
required products into the center. With these formed alliances,
GOLD has become a manufacturer representative for several products,
from consumable/disposable to capital equipment.
With the company becoming more involved in the design and development
of the various healthcare facilities, we began to work with more
general contractors in all phases. Having to re-educate each new
crew to the specific needs of medical specialties it became a
daunting and time consuming task. Robert decided to join forces
with Michael Keyes, general contractor and electrical engineer,
to start a construction division of the organization. This venue
is responsible for the construction of hospitals and various medical
facilities, providing a high level of medical construction at
a reasonable cost.
GOLD mission has been to provide the highest level of service
and turnkey medical and surgical centers for over 20 years, and
have worked closely with the state and accreditation agencies.
Our team is highly specialized to provide an optimal experience
in building a state-of-the art outpatient surgical center and
medical buildings. Many members of our team have been sought out
by local and state agencies to provide a greater understanding
of the surgical center arena. We offer a very “hands-on”
approach in dealing with the local and state agencies; this allows
us to present centers in the best possible manner and reduce their
headaches greatly.
